The most important grape varieties
DOC for red and white wines in the Italian region of Tuscany . The zone includes the eponymous municipality Montescudaio, and the municipalities of Casale Marittimo, Castellina Marittima, Guardistallo, Montecatini Val di Cecina, Riparbella and Santa Luce in the province of Pisa. The varietal wines must consist of at least 85% of each variety, the rest can be approved varieties of the same color. These are the types of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Sauvignon and Vermentino. Of the red wines are each also has a reserve . The dry Bianco is made from Trebbiano Toscano (50-100), as well as other permitted white varieties (50%).
