The most important grape varieties
DOC for sweet dessert white wine in the Italian region (island) Sicily . The area includes the municipalities of Avola, Noto (eponymous), and Rosolini Pachino in the province of Siracusa. It is believed that wines from this region as well as the Moscato di Siracusa the descendants of the legendary "Pollio di Siracusa" and from Pliny the Elder (23-79) as Haluntium antique wine are mentioned. The wine is pressed from sorted grapes rosinierten Moscato Bianco. There are versions of the Natural (11.5%), sparkling wine (13% vol) and the fortified Liquoroso (22% vol).
