Mosel

The vineyards are located in the growing area of the German federal state Rhineland-Palatinate , and to a lesser extent also in the state of Saarland. The area of Cochem (formerly cell) is named after the many terraced hillsides and Terrassenmosel. The area of Upper Moselle is occasionally referred to as Southern Wine Mosel. The large-area position-free Ruwertal was removed in 1998 from the Saar area.
