The indigenous red grape variety comes from Cyprus. Synonyms are Oftalmo, Ophtalmon, and Optalmo Pephtalmo. In addition to the Mavro she counts on the island of the most common varieties. It is also grown in Bulgaria, northern Greece and Spain. The variety is as wine and Table grape used.
