DOC (also Orvietano Rosso) for most dry red wines in the Italian region Umbria . The area includes the municipalities of Allerona, Alviano, Bashi, Castel Giorgio Castel Viscardo, Fabro, Ficulle, Guardea, Montecchio Montegabbione, Monteleone d'Orvieto, the eponymous Orvieto, and San Venanzo Porano in the province of Terni. The varietal types Aleatico (in secco, Amabile and dolce), Cabernet (Cabernet Franc and / or Cabernet Sauvignon), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Sangiovese must contain at least 85% of each variety, to 15% may be included other authorized red varieties. The Rosso is in any mixture of Aleatico, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Pinot Nero (70-100%), and blended in any mixture Barbera, Cesanese Comune, Colorino and Dolcetto (30%) .
