Pannobile
Winegrowers Association was founded in 1994 by seven winemakers from the community Gols Burgenland wine region in the Lake Neusiedl (Austria). The main objective is to establish an appellation of Burgenland with typical regional wines. The name is derived from a geographical point of view, because the area is part of the Pannonian Basin (the Roman name of the province was "Pannonia"). Every year produces each Pannobile operating independently from its own grapes, and a maximum of one red and one white wine blend Pannobile. To each producer uses only grapes with high physiological maturity of 100% native grapes, watch for extreme reduction in yield and operates gentle aging in oak barrels (225, 228, 500 liters and larger).
The preferred white wines are Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and supplemented by Neuburger, the preferred red varieties Zweigelt (capitals), Gamay, and St. Laurent. It is decided by strict tasting, whether a wine can be marketed as Pannobile. He must be the mirror image of the varieties used, the soil and the microclimate of the specific situations in Gols correspond to reveal the unique signature of the winemaker, and the Pannobile-style match. The cooperation consists mainly of intensive exchange of ideas, opinions and experiences, at least once a month held Pannobile sessions, and regular tastings and educational trips.
