Argus Peter
The estate is located in the municipality Gleisweiler (Southern Wine Road area) in the German wine-growing area Palatine . The family has been here for generations viticulture. In 1954 the first wine was sold in bottles. The red wines are aged in an old vaulted cellar from 1610. The large wooden barrels are still some of Alfonso Argus, who sold his farm in addition to wine in small wooden containers to the surrounding farmers. Today the property is managed by the grandson Peter Argus. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Lime pit (Frank Weiler), Hell (Gleisweiler) and Münzberg (single location, Germany) (Godramstein). They are the white varieties Riesling (2,5 ha), Pinot Gris, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Kerner, Sauvignon Blanc, Sylvaner and Bacchus, and with the red varieties Pinot Noir (0,5 ha), Regent, Dornfelder, Cabernet Dorsa , planted and Portuguese Frühburgunder. It is consistently controlled environment-friendly viticulture practices. The white wines are aged in stainless steel with Gärkühlung, the red wines in large oak barrels or in barriques. Since the year 1988 also produced flaschenvergorene sect.
