The most important grape varieties
DOC for a wide range of red and white wines in the Italian region Piedmont . The zone with 2,300 hectares of vineyard consists of 139 municipalities in the province of Alessandria, 118 municipalities in the province of Asti and 91 municipalities in the province of Cuneo. The varietal wine must contain 85%-types of each species, the remaining 15% must be approved varieties of the same color.
