Pinot Grigio

Italian name for the white grape variety Pinot Gris . It is mainly in the north-east of the country in the regions Emilia-Romagna , Friuli-Venezia Giulia , Lombardy , South Tyrol and Veneto widespread. The variety is also grown but in all other regions and occupies a total of 6,700 hectares. It is used in many areas of DOC usually sorted but expanded in the blend and also used for sparkling wines. One of the best pinot grigio wines include those from Friuli.
