Plag Werner
The estate is located in the municipality Kürnbach (Kraichgau area) in the German wine-growing area Baden (Germany) . The traditional family has a long winemaking tradition, the ancestor of Albert Plag was one of the early pioneers Kürnbacher wine. His son Reinhold ventured in 1982, then the successful transition from grape growers to self-marketer. Today, the operation in the third and fourth generation of Werner and his son Philip Plag is performed. The vineyards consist of eight hectares. They are planted to 70% with the with the red varieties Pinot Meunier (40%), Pinot Noir, Lemberger, dark fields, Cabernet Corsa and Samtrot, as well as 30% with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Muller-Thurgau. The wines are marketed in the three lines of estate wines, premium wines and Excellance. Depending on the type they are in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or expanded up to 18 months in barriques almost entirely dry.
