Greek appellation of about 445 hectares of vineyards on calcareous soils at Mount Ossa on the southeastern foothills of Mount Olympus in the region Thessaly . The vineyards are between 400 and 700 meters above sea level in the communities Ambelakia, cranial, and the eponymous Piryetós Rapsani. The dry red wine OPAP is from the vine Xynomavro with shares of Krassato Stavroto and usually pressed and aged in oak barrels. The best-known producers are Dougos Winery , Katsaros and Tsantali .
