DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region (island) Sicily . The area includes the municipalities of Butera, Mazzarino Riesi and in the province of Caltanissetta. The Bianco (also known as sparkling wine) is made from Ansonica (Inzolia) and / or Chardonnay (75-100%), and other permitted white varieties (up to 15%). The sweet Vendemmia Tardiva (late harvest) is generated in the same mixture of dried grapes on the vine and has 18% alcohol content. Rosso (also called Novello) and Rosato are produced from Calabrese (Nero d'Avola) and / or Cabernet Sauvignon (80-100%), and other permitted red varieties (up to 20%). The Superior is made from Calabrese (85-100%) and possibly other permitted red varieties (15%). With three years of age (one year in wood and six months in the bottle) he may reserve call.
