The Ritterhof Winery
The estate is located in the municipality Kaltern (Caldaro) in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). ). It was founded in 1968, and since 1999 it is owned by the family of Tramin Roner. Manager is Louis Kaneppele, executive winemaker Hannes Bernard. Our own vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards near the winery. 35 additional acres of wine grapes long-term contract to be bought. There are Lagrein to 40% of white wine Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muller Thurgau, Golden Muscatel and Gewürztraminer, as well as 60% of the red varieties, Vernatsch, Moscato Rosa, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon processed. In the vineyards is a natural, environmentally friendly farming. The wide range of products is among the DOC designations Kalterersee , Santa Maddalena and mainly South Tyrol marketed in two lines. The line "Ritterhof" includes all of South Tyrol region-typical white and red wines. The white wines are in stainless steel tanks, aged red wines in stainless steel tanks or wooden barrels. The line "crescendo" includes wines from selected vineyards with low yields, grape-selected and very gentle processing. They are built in limited edition only good years in large oak barrels or in barriques. Every year, a total of 290,000 bottles of wine are produced.

We obviously initially underestimated this wine's potential, has developed much better than anticipated.

Interesting in its youth, in spite of the full body.
