The most important grape varieties
DOC area for white, rosé and red wines in the Italian region of Liguria . The large zone includes most western part of the region with the provinces of Genoa (2 communities), Imperia (67 municipalities) and Savona (46 municipalities). The varietal types Granaccia (only since 2011), Ormeasco (Dolcetto), Ormeasco Sciacchetrà (a rose), Pigato, Rossese Vermentino and a maximum of 5% belonging to other varieties contain the same color. If Pigato, Rossese and Vermentino come exclusively from a defined area, they may also carry the designations or Albenga albums Galese, final or Finalese and Riviera dei Fiori, the name of Ormeasco Riviera dei Fiori.
