DOC (also briefly Dolceacqua) for dry red wine in the western Italian region of Liguria . The zone includes the eponymous municipality Dolceacqua other 14 municipalities in the province of Imperia. The vineyards on steep slopes to 600 meters above sea level located near the French border. The ruby red wine is made from Rossese (at least 95%) and possibly other permitted red varieties (maximum 5%). Alcohol with an alcohol content of 13%, it may be Superiore . call Kaiser Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) visited in 1805, the castle of the Doria family in Dolceacqua and was prepared by then probably still sweet wine enthusiastic. He gave his hosts even allowed to give the wine its name (which was but rarely used).
