The most important grape varieties
DOC for dry red wine in the Adriatic coast to Ancona in the Italian region of Trade Marks . The area includes the municipalities of Ancona, Camerano Castelfidardo Numana Offagna, Osimo and Sirolo in the province of Ancona. The name is derived from the 572 meter high Monte Conero from the south of Ancona. The vineyards cover nearly 600 hectares of vineyards on slopes along the Adriatic coast. Wine is produced here since ancient times. The famous physician and scientist Andrea Andrea Bacci (1524-1600), in his magnum opus on the history of this wine. He said that the Carthage General Hannibal (247-183 BC) against Rome in the train of his army, horse mats have healed by means of large amounts of Conero wine. The long-keeping red wine from Montepulciano (85-100%) and possibly Sangiovese (up to 15%) grapes. With at least 12.5% alcohol by volume content, and two years of aging, he can call himself Rosso Conero Riserva - this is since 2004, classified as DOCG.
