DOC for red and white wines in the Italian region (island) Sicily . The zone includes the two towns of Santa Margherita di Belice (eponymous) and Montevago in the province of Agrigento. The varietal types Ansonica, Catarratto, Grecanico, Nero d'Avola and Sangiovese must contain at least 85% of each variety, the rest can be approved varieties of the same color. The Rosso is blended from Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Sangiovese (50-80%), Nero d'Avola (20-50%), and for other permitted red varieties (15%). The Bianco Bianco Lucido is made Catarratto and / or Grecanico (50-70%), Ansonica (30-50%), and other permitted white varieties (up to 15%) were produced.
