Schlangengraben

Single location in the village Wiltingen (Saar area) in the German wine-growing area Moselle . It was created only in the early 1920s, some of the vines is also from this time. The name is possibly derived from an adjacent canyon (ditch). The south-facing vineyard covers nine hectares. The Devonian shale soils are crossed by numerous watercourses, which appear at the bottom as a small light sources. For this reason there is an optimum water supply. This Riesling is cultivated mainly in part ungrafted. Shares in a position to have as the wineries Reinert , Hans Resch , St. Urbans-Hof and Weinhof Herrenberg .
