DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region (island) Sicily . The zone includes the two communities Sciacca (eponymous) and Caltabellotta in the province of Agrigento. The varietal types of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Grecanico, Insolia, Merlot and Nero d'Avola must contain at least 85% of each variety, the rest can be approved varieties of the same color. The Bianco is produced in any desired mixture of Catarratto Bianco Lucido, Chardonnay, and Grecanico Inzolia (70-100%), and other permitted white varieties (up to 30%). The Riserva is produced exclusively in sub-area Rayana Rayana (within the community Sciacca) from Catarratto Bianco Lucido and / or Inzolia (80-100%) and possibly other permitted white varieties (up to 20%) is generated. The prescribed age is two years, one of them in wooden barrels. Rosso and Rosato be blended into any mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Nero d'Avola (70-100%), and other permitted red varieties (30%). The Rosso may be two years of aging (one in oak barrels) and 12.5% alcohol content reserve call.
