The white grape variety (also FR 240-75) is a new breed between Merzling x GM 6493 and GM 6494 (Zarya Severa x Muscat Ottonel). The crossing was made in 1975 by Norbert Norbert Becker (b. 1937) at the National Institute of Viticulture and Freiburg (Germany) (Baden-Wuerttemberg).
