The most important grape varieties
DOCG for dry red wine in the Italian region Umbria . The area includes the municipality in the province of Perugia Torgiano. The DOCG classification was carried out in 1991. The ruby red wine is made from Sangiovese (50-70%), Canaiolo (15-30%), Montepulciano and Ciliegiolo (up to 25%) and Trebbiano Toscano (up to 10%) blended. The alcohol content must be at least 12.5% alcohol by volume, as a minimum storage period, three years is prescribed. See also under the DOC area Torgiano .
