Torrontés
The indigenous white grape variety comes from Spain. Synonyms are Albillo Mayor, Aris, Bianco Monastrell, Monastrell Blanco, Blanco Morrastell, Tarrantés, Terrantes, Torontel Verdil, Torrantes, Torontés, Turrondes, Turronte, and Turruntés Turruntés de la Rioja. It is grown mainly in the north-western Spanish region of Galicia. This variety provides whites with a muscat-like aroma. She is in the DO-whites Mondéjar , Montilla-Moriles , Peñaflor , Rias Baixas , Ribeiro , Rioja and Vinos de Madrid authorized. There are other stocks in Bulgaria and Portugal. There was no relationship to the Argentine varieties (On the label often given as a short Torrontés), Torrontes Torrontes Mendocino or Sanjuanino demonstrated.
