Traisental

The Austrian wine region is one of eight of the state of Lower Austria and covers 789 hectares. It is the only way of Most vineyards district. It lies west of Vienna , bounded on the north by the Danube River and is bordered to the south of the Lower Austrian capital St. Pölten. The present volume is 1995 by separation from the vineyard Donauland (Now ) Emerged. Gave the name of the river Traisen, which flows through it by Duke Castle in the south to the north and then Traismauer at Krems in the Danube flows.

The Traisental is an ancient wine-growing region. A grape seed fund from the Bronze Age 2000 BC and a Celts Bronze bucket from the year 450 BC, with drinking scenes at a fixed point it out as one of the oldest wine regions in Austria. The city Traismauer was an ancient Roman city, here is the limit, the Wall went against the encroaching Germanic tribes from the north. Supposedly, the Nibelungs were entertained on their way to King Etzel in Traismauer with wine. Already in 1673 at a wine tasting Inzersdorfer wines were rated higher than the wines from the Wachau .

There is a dry, sandy and gravelly-loamy soil before. The weather is subject to Pannonian and continental influence, the Danube has thermal-regulating. The largest wine-producing town is Traismauer with about 200 hectares of vineyards. In Inzersdorf already possessed by the year 1000, some pins such as Passau and Salzburg vineyards. Other famous churches are Ambach, Angern Getzersdorf, Duke Castle, Inzersdorf, Nose Mountain, Walnut Village, Upper Village, Oberwölbling, Reichersdorf, and Statzendorf Waldlesberg. The best-known vineyards are Engelreich Gießgraben, Grillenbühel, mountain (first 950), and Händl ditch, ditch Pletz, Rafasetzen, Wöbling and Traverse.

Known wineries are Brindlmayer Karl , Dockner Thomas , Hauleitner Herwald , Herzinger Reinhard , Rudolf Hofmann , Andreas Holzer , Markus Huber , Herbert Kreimel , Ludwig Neumayer , Joseph Nolz , Walter Pernikl , Frederick Preiss and Hans Scholler . Most vineyards are in the Traisental tenants association organized. A selection of the best wines of the region Traisental are in the wine boutique and tasting Traismauer commented on at all times ready for sale. From the 2006 vintage was the source-controlled quality level Traisental DAC introduced with two vine varieties, namely Traisental DAC Grüner Veltliner or Riesling Traisental DAC.

The Blend is based on the annual survey conducted in 2009 Weingarten. Compared to the last survey in 1999, there were no significant changes in the varieties. The vineyard area increased by 119 hectares, or about 18%. The red wine has increased proportion of 4% only slightly. The clearly dominant grape variety is Riesling. Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc 1999 were not recorded in common:
