DOC (also briefly Trasimeno) for dry reds, rosé and white wines in the Italian region Umbria . The area includes the municipalities of Castiglione del Lago, Citta della Pieve, Corciano, Magione, Paciano, Panicale, Passignano, Perugia, and Plegaro Tuoro sul Trasimeno in the province of Perugia. The single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Merlot and Grechetto (all three as a reserve ) must contain at least 85% of each variety, the rest must be approved varieties of the same color. The Bianco (also known as sparkling) is made from Trebbiano Toscano (40-70%), in any use of Grechetto, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio (30-60%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 30%) blended . The white Vin Santo is produced in the same mixture. The Bianco scelto is produced in any combination of Chardonnay, Grechetto, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon and Vermentino (85-100%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 15%). Rosso (also known as sparkling wine and Reserve) and are Rosato of Sangiovese (40-70%), pressed in any use of Cabernet, Ciliegiolo, Gamay, and Merlot (30-60%), and any other permitted red varieties. The scelto Rosso is produced in any use of Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay and Pinot Nero (70-85%), Sangiovese (15-30%), and possibly other permitted red varieties (15%). The Spumante Classico is produced in any combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero (70-100%), and possibly other permitted white varieties (up to 30%).
