Spumante DOCG for red (sparkling wine) in the Italian region of Trade Marks . The existing classification since 1971, DOC was elevated to DOCG in 2003. The zone includes the eponymous municipality Serrapetrona and partly the communities Belforte del Chienti and San Severino Marche, in the province of Macerata. A sparkling wine was already here by 15 Century produced. The dry wine is made from slightly dried grapes of the variety Vernaccia di Vernaccia Nera Serrapetrona = (85-100%), and any Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Ciliegiolo (15%). There are two versions of the secco (dry) and Dolce (sweet). See also Vernaccia .
