The appeal lies in the northeastern region of South West France in the Aveyron department and the part of small Cantal. The former VDQS area was classified in 2012 as an AOP. The wine is here on the 9th Century back, the first vineyards were of the Benedictine created by Conques. The area includes 22 hectares of vineyards on terraced south-facing slopes with high shale content of the two rivers Lot and Truyère formed valleys.
The area consists of two parts. The first covers eight hectares in the municipality Entraygues-sur-Truyère. Here, especially white wines are fermented Chenin Blanc and Mauzac. The second part is in the hills a few kilometers from fields with the two communities Le Fel and much Levie and covers 14 hectares. Here are mainly rosé and red wines from Mansoi (Fer Servadou), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Gamay, Négrette and produces Pinot Noir, and Jurançon Mouyssagùes. Very similar wines in the southern region bordering Vins d'Estaing produced.
