The most important grape varieties
Local vin de pays in the north of the Gers department, in the historic landscape Gascony in South West France . In the past, here mainly Armagnac produced, but after the fall in demand put many producers to the production of VdP. 80% are white wines mostly from Colombard, Manseng, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc blended. The red and rosé wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tannat. Known producers of Cassagnoles Domaine, Domaine de Joy Domaine du Rey, Domaine de San de Guilhelm, Domaine du Tariquet, Producers Plaimont (large cooperative with 1,200 hectares of vineyards) and Hugh Ryman.
