The most important grape varieties
The same city named after the local appellation is an enclave in the center area of Touraine near the city of Tours in the wine growing region of the Loire . Vouvray is one of the oldest AC fields, the classification has been granted in 1936. The vineyard area totals 2,000 hectares and are located on clay and gravel soils on the north bank of the Loire. The area is crossed by the Loire Creek Burn. The white wine is made from Chenin Blanc (Pineau de la Loire) is generated with some Arbois and expanded from dry to sweet.
