Würzgarten
Single location in the village Ürzig (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing area Moselle . The name goes back to a spice garden, as it has created many wine-growing communities in the Middle Ages to the preparation of Würzweinen. According to a document from the 13th Century was the fief of wine Godefridus Th Wurzegard in possession of such Würzgartens. To commemorate the combination of herbal garden and vineyard in 2005 Schauwürzgarten the steep slope of the position was created. In 1971, during the land consolidation incorporated the previously separate Won "Sundial". The aligned south to Ostsüdosten vineyards in 120 to 320 meters above sea level with 45 to 65% slope comprise 53 hectares of vineyards. The floors consist of a mixture of red sandstone (Permian) and weathered shale. Mainly this is the Riesling still largely in single pile education and partly cultivated ungrafted. Shares in a position to have as the wineries Berres , Dr. F. Weins-Prüm , Dr. Hermann , Dr. Loosen , Dr. Pauly-mountain hamlet , Karl heritage , John Christoffel Erben , Jos. Christoffel Jr. , Non-buck dance , Molitor , Mönchhof Robert Eymael and St. Anna .
