The most important grape varieties
The Austrian wine region is one of eight of the state of Lower Austria and covers 2452 hectares. From 1995 to 2007 it was Donauland This name has never really enforced. The new name Wagram was valid from 2007 vintage. The eponymous elevation north of the Danube extends from Feuersbrunn in the west to the Mount of Heroes in the Northeast. The name (wax Rain) is derived from "waves Rain" or "edge waves", which was in the last ice age, the former edge of the Danube in Tulln field. On a base of bedrock horizon is a source of beach sand, it is piling up high loess up to twelve meters. The yellow soil has high Water storage capacity and provides multi-layered wine.
Wagram is composed of two separate areas of the Danube. North along the river and extends above the much larger range between the vineyards Kamp in the West and Vienna in the east. He was also the name of the wine region and includes around 2,450 hectares of vineyards. Known wine-growing large municipalities are Fels am Wagram with vineyards Fumberg, Hammergraben, Mitterweg, mountain sheep, and Weelfel Wora; Grafenwörth with the mountain vineyards, cellar wine garden, and nut- Rosenberg (Riede Austria) ; Großriedenthal with age Weingarten, monkshood and Goldberg (Riede Austria) ; And Kirchberg am Wagram with mountain dog, Schlossberg and Steinberg.
To the east and south of the Danube, the second is named after the town of , Including the municipality of Tulln and the market town of Atzenbrugg. As part of the renaming of the Danube at Wagram was this country the status of a great location. The vineyards of the much smaller part include approximately 350 acres of vineyards. For the municipality includes the villages of Klosterneuburg Hoeflein, Kierling, Kritzendorf, Maria Gugging Weidling and Weidlingbach. Famous vineyards are , Weidling, Wieden and brick Grub. The Blend is based on the annual survey conducted in 2009 Weingarten. Compared to the last survey in 1999, there were no significant changes in the varieties. The vineyard area increased by 119 hectares, or about 18%. The red portion is increased by 5% only slightly. The clearly dominant grape variety is Riesling. Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc 1999 were not recorded in common:
