The estate is located in the municipality Vogtsburg-Burkheim (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German region of Baden (Germany) . The family crest can be traced back to 1457. Wine in the traditional family since the 17th Century operated. Franz-Michael Bercher Built in 1756 the manor house with vaulted basement, which has since continuously family-owned and today is the seat of the estate. In the 1970s the plant was built by the brothers and Rainer Eckhardt Bercher to today's reputation. Today, he is already out in tenth-generation family of two sons and cousins ​​Martin (outdoor use) and Arne Bercher (winemaking). As a winemaker Werner acts Rehbein. The white wines are aged on the lees for a long time. The red wines are aged in large wooden casks, the Selections wines in oak barrels. Firm, tart, smoky and roasted nose, partly preserved ripe red and some black cherries, dried floral and herbaceous notes, tart cool mineral notes in the background. Clear, concentrated and juicy on the palate, polished, ripe, fairly dark fruit on the palate, some sugar candy, light toasted and smoky oak, very fine, youthful tannins, still fairly prominent, persistent and has some depth, some coffee in the background, firm and has some depth, becomes more polished with aeration, very good finish.
