The estate is located in the municipality Kaltern (Caldaro) in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). In 1851 the castle was bought in nearby Bolzano by Archduke Rainer of Austria (1827-1913), Viceroy of Lombardy-Venetia, and went through succession in the ownership of the Earls of Kuenburg. Today the estate is already in its sixth generation of George Earl is headed by Kuenburg. The vineyards cover 31 hectares of vineyards in prime locations around the Kalterersee with sometimes up to 50-year-old vines. There is a white grape varieties Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Muscat Giallo, and the red varieties are Lagrein, Moscato Rosa (Pink Moscato), grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Vernatsch. A special feature here is the most well-kept Rosenmuskateller , For Prince Henry of Campo Franco brought vines with some of his Sicilian estates. As a family legacy, he is like a treasure guarded and only produced in limited quantities. It is run consistently near-natural, environmentally friendly farming and grapes only from its own records to be used for the production of wines. The expansion is three stories below ground in the historic cellar, depending on the type of wine in large oak casks or barrels. Among other wines of the DOC areas South Tyrol and Kalterersee produced.
