The winery "Hans Igler" lies in the community German Kreutz in vineyards Mittelburgenland (Austria). Died in 1994, Hans Igler was as a grand, and doyen charismatic role model for many vintners from Burgenland. The red wine pioneer experimented first Burgenland wine back in the early 1980s with the then unknown in Austria or Barrique , Set out as one of the first a large amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and ventured out to a red wine blend. In collaboration with the painter Prof. Anton Lehmden he created Austria's first series of artistically designed labels. Today, the operation of Waltraud and Wolfgang Reisner Reisner lgler will continue. Clement son has been training for the 2005 harvest in the wine school Eisenstadt and practices in the Australian winery Veritas (Barossa Valley) and in the vineyards of Count Neipperg (St. Emilion, Bordeaux) fully integrated into the operation and responsibility for the cellar. After extensive refurbishment in June 2009, the "Schaflerhof" put into operation. This branch serves as a storage barrel, Vulcano wine shop, tasting and club space, as well as a modern event location in contemporary architecture and historic ambience.

It only takes a management according to the guidelines of Integrated Pest Management , Natural wine, such as green manure by introducing Einsaaten (yellow mustard, buckwheat, etc.) by means of mechanical tillage. The vineyard area totals 35 hectares of vineyards in the mountains Großlage Old wine in vineyards Fabian, Goldberg, Höblisch, Hochberg and Kart . They are 98% with the red varieties Gamay, Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Merlot, with the rest of the little white wine Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay planted. The premium wines of the house, the red wine blends "Volcano" (Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Merlot), the 15 months in oak barrels maturing, and "From Ericio", Latin for "hairy ball" as a tribute to Hans Igler (Merlot, Gamay, Zweigelt), who is aged 21 months in barriques. Every year around 200,000 bottles of wine are produced. It creates a flaschenvergorener champagne. The winery is a member of the Association Renowned wineries of Burgenland .

2008-05-23 (88): Clean nose with preserved and partly dried red berries, mineral traces, very light roasted notes. Very clear again on the palate, elegant and juicy, light spicy oak, fine, only slightly astringent tannins, persistent and has some depth, full-bodied but by no means clumsy, delicate hint of tobacco, very well balanced, quite a long finish.

Forest strawberries, raspberries and plums on the nose, delicate dried herbsm smoky and roasted notes, sweet spicy oak. Clear and quite juicy on the palate, elegant, refreshing acidity and very fine tannins, some more delicate herbaceous traces, mineral notes in the background, light, elegant acid bite, not particularly deep, delicate tart notes on a very good finish. Significantly better than the first sample.

2008-01-14 (84): Fairly mature nose, preserved and partly dried mixed berries and plums, dried herbs, some spicy roasted and smoky notes. Clear and tranquil on the palate, elegan fruit and light roasted notes, very fine tannins, delicate acid bite, mineral traces in the background, not particularly deep, but very well balanced, good finish.

Give it time to mature.

2007-01-05 (88+): Delicately matured, complex nose with ripe red berries, some cassis, herbs, chocolate and slightly medicinal mineral notes. Complex, too, on the palate, medium-bodied and polished, complex berry fruit with notes of cherries and herbs, quite substantial, but not exceptionally deep, oak detracts slightly from the character and potential of the wine, integrated tannins, tart smoky notes, good finish.

Quite a deep nose with extremely ripe mixed berries, plums and preserved cherries, sweetish spicy notes, dried flowers, spicy oak and moneral notes. Very concentrated and very juicy on the palate, highly polished fruit, prominent oak with sweetish roasted notes and some coffee, fine tannins, still a little astringent on the palate, very persistent, excellent depth and firm structure, more mineral notes in the background, still very youthful, deep with a very long finish, very juicy in spite of the fairly prominent oak.

2007-01-16 (89+): Medium-intense nose, sour cherries as well as red and black berries, herbaceous and mineral as well as roasted and smoky notes. Full-bodied and creamy, with lots of new oak, predominantly red fruit, herbaceous notes, vanilla and coconut, fine but slightly astringent tannins, new oak intitially dominates the palate, mineral notes in the background, fruit eventually perseveres, given some time, becomes quite charmingand playful, lots of depth, long finish.

Also elegant and not overpowering on the palate, shows fairly prominent, crisp cherry and berry fruit, persistent, has good structure and character, vibrating with prominent mineral notes, which also adds to the depth, quite juicy on a very good finish. Improves with aeration.

2007-01-15 (85): Dark berries on a slightly spicy nose, roasted notes and chocolate. Lots of sweetisj oak on the palate, some chocolate and delicate roasted notes, red berries and cherries, very fine tannins, smooth modern style, well made, but not much varietal character, attractive to good finish.

Very traditional style, hardly any oak, lots of fruit and shows its origin.
