The estate is located in the municipality in the Lower Austrian wine region Stratzing Kremstal . Vineyard is run by the family since 1865. A cellar is still used 350 years old. The vineyard area totals 15 hectares in Stratzing in mountain terraces around Senftenberg and around the city Krems . They are the white varieties Grüner Veltliner (administrative centers with 7 ha), Riesling, Chardonnay, Muller Thurgau, Neuburger and Muscat, and planted with the red varieties Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are on the principle of KIP managed (controlled and integrated production). The stated goal of company is to produce as elegant and fruit-driven wines in the range predicate. A specialty is wines from the Grüner Veltliner. The premium wines include several Grüner Veltliner and Riesling Kremstal DAC Kremstal DAC and reserve, and the red wine blend Lena Marie (70% Zweigelt, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon). The wines are marketed with the initials "JS" on a black bottle label. Schmid wines are available in numerous Austrian top restaurants-pubs and served at state banquets. Every year around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced.
