The estate is located in the district of St. Nicholas above Caldaro at the foot of the Mendel mountain range in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). In its present form was founded in 1992 by the agricultural technicians Sölva Josef and his wife Johanna, whose family tradition for several generations are connected with the wine. A year later, the newly built wooden barrel cellar was put into operation, since the wines are marketed itself. Son Dieter is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers Barleit, gallows grass, Kardatsch, Lavardi, mother garden, Putznai, Salt and Vial. They are the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Kerner, and planted with the red varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is run consistently near-natural wine. The product range includes several DOC wines of the area Kalterersee and South Tyrol . Every year around 50,000 bottles are produced wines. About 25% are exported to Germany, England, Holland America and Japan. In-house distillery are also spirits (wine, grains, fruits) is generated. The winery is a founding member of the "Free wine growers in South Tyrol."

Quite full-bodied on the palate, prominent oak, very creamy, noticeable alcohol, very ripe, partly candied fruit, vegetal and earthy notes, light tannins, integrated acidity, quite a big wine, good persistence, touch of nougat, more light smoky notes on a very good finish.
