The winery is located in the Schäfer-Fröhlich Bockenau community in the German region Near . It is since the early 1970s, operated by Hans and Karin Fröhlich already in fifth-generation families. The tradition will continue with son Tim, who is since 1996 responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover 12.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers Felseneck and Stromberg (Bockenau) Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg (Monzingen), and Felsenberg and Copper Mine (Castle Böckelheim). They are planted to 80% with Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The Riesling is harvested very late and selectively. The fermentation occurs with selected yeasts and spontaneous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Since 2001, the winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German VDP).

Noticeably reductive nose, prominent yeasty, cool vegetal and herbaceous notes, restrained peach and citrus fruit, some leeks, tart mineral notes, light lactic and volatile notes. Full-bodied and quite juicy on the palate, prominent yeasty notes, herbaceous notes and some leeks, light lactic and volatile notes again, fairly prominent acidity, mature tannins, persistent, lemony and earthy notes, light waxy notes, has some substance, fairly persistent, good grip, still very restless, sweetish notes, good bite and contours on a very good finish, but still with uncertain predictions as to its development.
2012-08-23 (89?): Firm nose, still closed, light volatile notes, citrus and peach fruit, yeasty and herbaceous notes, tart mineral notes, some quince and floral traces. Slightly juicy, sweetish fruit on the palate, elegant, lively acidity, some carbon dioxide, yeasty notes, very slightly rough, but also polishedm fairly persistent, mineral notes in the background, more light volatile notes, very good substance and persistence, still slightly muted and sulphurous, very good finish. The volatile acid is slightly worrying, uncertain forecast.

Sweetish and juicy on the palate, good grip, herbs and spices, tart mineral notes, still has prominent yeasty notes, lively, very elegant acidity, delicate hint of carbon dioxide, full-bodied and creamy, persistent and has good depth, good grip again, elegant spice, juicy on a very good finish. Needs time to develop.

Clean, elegant, juicy, very polished fruit on the palate, slightly sweetish, extremely elegant, lively acidity, herbaceous, vegetal and very delicate yeasty notes, floral traces, a hint of dark berries, persistent, quite playful, has some depth, more cool mineral notes, slightly sweetish mit mineral notes and some more dark berry traces on a very good finish.
