The Jost family has operated for nearly two centuries of viticulture. The vineyard area totals 12 hectares of vines in two German wine-growing areas. In both the winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German VDP). The current owner is a fifth-generation family Ing Peter Jost, who took over the operation in 1975 by his father Tony. The honor was broken with the tradition to name each operation after the current owner. The parent winery located in the town of Bacharach in the region Middle Rhine . The vineyards consist of eight hectares. The vineyards in the Rheingau include 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the position Walkenberg (Walluf). The local winery was founded as an agricultural mixed use with vineyards, orchards and a mill.
