Welschriesling
The origin of this late-ripening white grape variety is unknown. After one of the theories she is said to come from Romania, where she is also widespread. Despite the name similarity, it is not directly related to the Riesling used (Welsch means strange or foreign). It also attempts to run, the change of name confusion contributing to Rizling. The acid-stressed and with a bouquet of nuts and hay furnished Riesling is primarily as a light, fruity summer wine popular. He is also often used for mixtures with mineral or soda water (see below Injected ). The variety is found mainly in Central Europe and Eastern European countries, but also found in China. Worldwide, it occupies at least 50,000 hectares of vineyards. In Austria it is with 3597 acres and nearly 8% share of the third most planted grape variety. In Styria are pressed mainly young and sparkling wines for drinking it. Especially in the Burgenland, the Riesling is particularly good for higher awards, like Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese . In Austria it is also widely used for the production of champagne used. In Germany, it is hardly represented. The Riesling was a partner in the new varieties Bussanello , Cosmo Italo , Dalmasso 12-40 , FLAVIS , Goldburger , Goldriesling (2), Italica , Julie , Nosztori Rizling , Rani Rizling and Sarba .
