The origin of the "Winzer Krems" in the city Krems with the famous address Sandpit goes back to the guild in 1447, founded Hauer of Krems and Stein. These tusks Guild is the oldest in Germany. In 1938, quality-conscious winemakers founded the Guild of Krems and Stein Hauer, the Winzer Krems. Managing Director is Francis Ehrenleitner. There are 1,200 members with a total of 900 hectares mostly in the vineyards Kremstal But also in the vineyards Kamp , Traisental , Wachau and Wagram . The winemakers of the specialists during the year when planting, Pruning , When Plant Protection When the soil preparation, when the foliage, Thin out and advise on choosing the right timing and reading support. The vineyard work based on the specifications of a Integrated Pest Management . The yield is limited to a maximum of 7000 kg per hectare. Computer-assisted exact reading order is created. The total harvest is taken separately by variety, different levels of quality and origin to individual documents and processes. The grapes are subjected to 85% of a gentle whole bunch pressing.

The main varieties are Veltliner (60%), Zweigelt (20%) and Riesling (10%), while the rest are in addition to Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and St. Laurent are many other varieties. The wines are produced in the premium lines, "Butler" (food) or "wine factory Krems" (food retailing). Of 40% of production goes to the upscale food and the catering trade at home and abroad. The best-known brands are Grüner Veltliner Kremser Goldberg, Riesling and Riesling Kremser Kremser Kremsleiten Pfaffenberg which includes the range of the Vienna Opera Ball. Vinotheks-basement located in Krems Kamp , Where wines are stored back to 1947. Together with the mineral water manufacturers Römerquelle was the premium G'spritzte "A'prima" created in the bottle. 2005, the biggest reorganization of the estate was completed in history: In addition to a new fermentation and maturation cellars and new grape and wine acquisition station was also the wine experience "SANDGRUBE wein.sinn 13" opened. Essentially fully mature, gentle, sweetish, mature berry fruit, slightly sharp, alcoholic notes make the wine a little restless, but also has some balancing sweet extract and substance, should be drunk soon, slightly dusty tannins, attractive to good finish.

Could become more harmonious with maturation.
